BIOGRAPHY
Wallace H. Bracken was born in New York on 1900. In Rye his family lived on Van Wagenen Avenue. Wallace served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Wallace II. Bracken OAKLAND
A memorial service for Wallace H. Bracken of Oakland, a former Ho-Ho-Kus resident, was conducted yesterday at Christ Episcopal Church in Ridgewood. Mr. Bracken, 78, died Wednesday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in East Orange. He was born in Jackson, Mich., and lived in Ho-Ho-Kus before moving to the borough in 1972. He was a marketing manager for C. H. Masland and Sons, carpet manufacturers, in Carlisle, Pa., before his retirement in 1956. Earlier, he was a merchandising manager for Saks Fifth Avenue.
A 1922 graduate of the University of Michigan, Mr. Bracken was a lieutenant commander in the Navy during World War II and also served in the Navy in World War I. His wife, the former Wilhelmina Warner, died in 1967. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Sally Hommel of Ho-Ho-Kus; two sons, Warner' and Peter of Oakland; a brother, Worth of Dallas, Tex. ; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Interment was private. Arrangements were under the direction of C. C. Van Em-burgh Mortuary Inc. of Ridgewood. Memorial donations to the Oakland First-Aid Squad would be appreciated.
